i believe that her friend is dead bc when the youngest sister and her friend were looking at the CCTV they saw that her mom came into the room with a coat and came out with a dress and the doll house show that she has been planning this for years now even before she mets in-joo i guess that she just needed to "cast the parts" . i think that it is also possible that they switched places because before her death she got plastic surgery .
