This is too harsh. If you don't like it, at least have the decency to wait for all the episodes of the drama to…
This idea that I shouldn’t critique it “out of respect for the actors” makes zero sense. Even actors themselves complain about scripts, bad character arcs, and sloppy writing in their own projects. If the people in the production can call out weak writing, why on earth should I, an audience member, be expected to pretend everything is flawless?
And please spare me the “good manners” lecture. You’re in the same public thread arguing with me, so clearly you’re not above the discourse either. You can like the show, I can critique it. That’s literally how opinions work. Trying to shut down anyone who disagrees with you is actually the only rude thing happening here. You just sound like a bot trying so hard to promote the show.

Wait, why are you suddenly acting like you know my preferences better than I do? Calling me “impatient” because I criticized the writing is wild. I literally mentioned Reply 1988, which is peak subtle storytelling. If that’s not “reading between the lines,” I don’t know what is.
The problem with Typhoon Family isn’t that it’s “too layered” for me. It’s that the writing is messy, inconsistent, and makes the characters act like watered-down versions of themselves. If you actually paid attention to the subtext you’re bragging about, you’d see how uneven the character work is.
And since you brought up slow, emotional storytelling, let’s talk My Liberation Notes. That show is literally the blueprint of a slow burn. Quiet, introspective, beautifully written, every character with real depth. Compare that to TF, where the potential is there but the execution keeps tripping over itself.
You loving the show is fine. But jumping straight to “people who don’t like it have no brain or heart” is hilarious. Disagreement doesn’t mean I’m shallow it just means I’m not confusing sloppy writing for profound depth.

Uhmm it’s literally 14 episodes in… not 5. I think I have the right to an opinion already am I? And the other comments (not just here, even on other platforms) are even way harsher lmao. You can disagree with me but you cannot tell me that I have no right to make a comment about a TV show.
Really really great concept only to be wasted by trashy scriptwriting. Story was all over the place. The writing makes the characters look dumb and awkward. Even the villains looked so petty and dumb. Could've had their Reply 1988 moment if they didn't decide to eff it up.
Loved the cast but Shin Hye Sun absolutely carried. Idc if people say she’s too old for the role because I can’t think of any other actress killing this role. I really enjoyed this but I admit there were some weird parts about it like the build up would feel so intense just for something so underwhelming. Loved the chemistry between the main leads though, I hope they work together again.
One of the nicest kdramas I've watched in quite a while!! It was also so nicely wrapped up in the end which is rare in kdramas nowadays because it either feels rushed or dragged. I super love Yi Chan and Chung A's love story sm! I think the love storyline between Eun Gyeol and Se Gyeong could've been better though because they felt more like best friends to me. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this one and I miss the characters already.
This was a pretty nice healing drama to watch. The premise was refreshing. Episodes 13-15 were such a chore to watch though and I admit some scenes and lines were too cringey for my liking. I liked the FINAL episode though, they finished it off pretty nicely although I wish they let us see the house ML made! hahaha.
It's a unique idea for sure, loved the HUMOR and the romance (especially at first) was great. But honestly, this could've been a 12-episode kind of drama because they dragged it too much in the end.
I am not a feminist and even so I hated the ending. I believe in second chances. I have also been around older…
"It should not be unsatisfying all the time a woman’s reality. Social perception can be changed." Yeah that is the point of this whole drama you know. Dr. Cha is breaking these stupid stereotypes the society built for women. And this drama is letting people see the disgusting effect of these stereotypes put onto women. I honestly don't find the connection between your anecdote and Dr. Cha's life though because her children loves her and I don't think they would leave her alone or something if that's what you were talking about.

Welp, I guess you were unsatisfied because it is indeed hard to face the harsh reality of women. Cheating men being given a lot of leeway? Surprise, it happens more than you think. If she got the love and support that she deserves to have, that would honestly be fiction at its finest. Like fuck her friends and family you know, I'm just glad that Dr. Cha was happy for HERSELF and was able to make decisions that gave herself peace in the end. This drama can be unsatisfying for a lot of people because a woman's reality is unsatisfying to see.
I am a feminist and I don't understand why the other reviews say this drama hates women because Doctor Cha gets to DECIDE everything for her life in the end, for herself. Forgiving was also HER choice. If her decisions are what makes her heart at peace then why are people so entitled to make her decisions for her lol that is the opposite of feminism.
I feel like 12 episodes would've been enough for this drama. They dragged it out too much after episode 9 maybe because of the hype or the popularity. Also, I love Woo Shik and Da Mi but in my opinion, overrated for an 8.8 rating. Plot is kind of messy and it's just one thing after the other, the transition of the stories of each character is not really smooth. It felt like they were stacking it up. The early parts were so good though.
This is a refreshing drama! a feel-good one but has a well-written storyline. A bit boring at first and jung eum's acting can be annoying but I'm glad I didn't drop it, it's worth it :)
