Can I watch this drama without watching the first season?
There would be little to no point. This is a continuation, just because it's newer doesn't mean it's better. Might as well watch the first because even with watching the first season, the first ep can be quite confusing as there is a big time leap from S1 to S2. Only with having watched S1 are you able to piece things together in the first ep.

I will admit I was having doubts early on in the show because of how restricted the world of MJTY feels and the pacing. But man the storywriting and script is phenomenal, as well as the OST. A character could appear for just one episode and I'll be heavily invested in them.

This drama would be trending on mdl right away if it's released by Netflix on the same day with tvn. This is too…
It's mainly because of the no subtitles issue before, so it's essentially not really out yet for most of us. The reviews next week will probably be different

Okay I finally finished it. Despite loving the original more, there are some things that it does better than the original I'll admit e.g. expanding on the happier parts where the original cuts off e.g. the kiss in the university section, but there are also parts it omits that I didn't like e.g. the part with helping her brother. But overall, it stays true to the original with the main plot and message of the story. The original was gut wrenching for me, and I think that's why I'm heavily attached to it. That being said, this is probably an easier watch for newcomers I'll say as it's easier to follow. I do encourage to give the original a try, as it is still one of if not my highest rated dramas of all time.

I really like this version. All that's missing is the quirky humour from the FL in the original but I still like the FL in this adaptation.

See that’s why I feel like sometimes it’s better not to make remakes
I mean it's a decent attempt that introduces more people to the story and hopefully encourages them to watch the original. But yes, there was never any doubt that the original would be better

My advice, try not to compare with the original too much until at least you finish. You can still enjoy both without trashing the one you like least.

Am i the Only one not liking Gong Ziyu's character. Bad at martial arts, not intelligent, sloppy.... i really…
He seems intelligent, at least more intelligent than the the eye perceives as the FL says. I also prefer ML that isn't over powered, he probably has hidden potential waiting to be unlocked.

it's rated 18+ if you're letting your kids watch this idk man...
That's fair. It's going to be a hit or miss depending on who you are, I felt it had more impact seeing an indestructible individual being crushed by another, but I could see it being totally needless for others. I guess the best solution would have been to make it all off screen. I would definitely not change a thing about the Huisoo bully fight scene though, hell actually I was hoping I'd see more but they cut it out πŸ˜‚

I do agree there are elements that kids would enjoy. But overall, I think a lot of the plot is quite deep and I am super glad it is for 18+. Regardless, kids will probably watch it anyways just without their parents πŸ˜… The head crushing part could have been done off screen, but it was to ensure he would be out of action for a very long time, I don't find it weird. So far the show has been amazing at least for me. We'll see if that changes in the near future
