Instead of removing the 2nd BL couple from the manhwa they could've added a 2nd GL couple but no everything in Korea has to be straight washed like how they white wash their skin tones. And to make it worse they also stole away the main characters screen time as well.

From all the photos I'm seeing I don't think there is going to be romance between them. So we can't really tell if he's playing a straight character but if he is then that's cool too.
