I made no comments about this writer.
You obviously haven't read anything in the annals to know the difference between facts and fiction.

IIRC, they recorded what happened, not interpret them. That was one of the rules.
If you've read any of the king's annals it's kind of boring, at least to me. On this day of this month the king met who and who......

The history is written by the winners, so there is no pure 100 percent accurate history.A king with achievements,…
The Annals of the Joseon Dynasty are widely regarded for their accuracy. Each action of the king was meticulously documented by historiographers, and the king was not allowed to read these accounts.

If I'm not mistaken, this site that you recommend is stealing Unit's recaps from Dramabeans. https://dramabeans.com/shows/the-queen-who-crowns/
Obviously they took her recaps and changed it up a little.

Ok, so I get powerful families are the potential ruin of a kingdom and all of that but I feel like if the king…
They got together as teenagers in an arranged marriage. Their thirst for power led them down this path. They'll both reap the benefits, the bad, and the ugly.

This is where you learn the history? It's no wonder you can't tell the difference between facts and the writer's imagination.

how does this compare to tree w deep roots? i rather watch one than the other
It's longer and it's closer to the actual history than the fusion "Tree With Deep Root."
I enjoyed both for different reasons.

Viki is correct. Taesangwang is the title for a retired king. Sangwang is another title similar to Taesangwang.
The two retired king at this point would be King Taejo - the Taesangwang (the king's father and 1st king of Joseon) and King Jeongjong - the Sangwang (the king's older brother and 2nd king of Joseon). The king's father and older brother abdicated the throne. They used the different titles because they are referring to two different kings.

Faithful to what historical facts? The producers had said that it's a fictional take based on actual history, even at the beginning of every episodes.

i see people keep mentioning the six flying dragons. do i need to watch that first?
This is not in the same league as the older sageuks of this era, even SFD. They are longer, and the characters are fleshed out.

Did Lee Si Young actually speak Japanese language that fluently? Haven’t seen her for awhile since Red Sleeves.…
She had a dialogue coach helping her like Lee Jung-jae in The Acolyte.
If she had been fluent, she wouldn't have needed a translator during promotions. She said a few words in Japanese, but that's about it.
