Even putting aside how the ML behaves toward the FL, he still makes me furious. Emotionally manipulating his little brother into moving in with him so that he can "fix" their relationship by lying to him that their grandfather has cancer? That is so toxic. I really can't understand why so many people--FL, cousin, the friend, fangirls, etc.--like him so much and normalize and excuse his behavior. Like, this whole conversation about how difficult it is for him to apologize is supposed to make me feel like him saying sorry is enough after making this poor kid think his grandfather was dying??? All of the characters skipped straight over that and only focused on the past conflict, and honestly, if the past was all that was at play and he didn't pull the cancer trick, then the reconciliation probably would have worked for me, which made it all the more frustrating to watch.

As of ep 17, it does look like the past resets each time

It’s not that he doesn’t remember it’s that it hasn’t happened yet (for him anyway). She keeps going back further, and changing the timeline she’s already changed. So with the umbrella, the first time she goes back to that time on the bus, she’s already on it and that’s when he gives her the umbrella, but the second time, when she asks him about the umbrella, she asks before they get on the bus. For him it hadn’t happened yet. Same goes for the water balloon.
