For “You Are My Hero” there are 3 separate couples including the main leads so there were plenty of stories that could be told. It was Bai Jingting’s first onscreen kiss too so that may have been another factor. She falls in love with SWAT officer who saved her and he’s never forgotten her. In the case of YAMG, the novel and the show are literally telling you the story of Yutu and Jing Jing and how their relationship progresses and love grows. The supporting cast are literally there to support them but they are the primary focus of the series. I think this is an apples oranges comparison. You can’t like every show you watch but to base it off two very different premises is not fair to either show. I watched both and loved them both. But I’m not going to compare them because they are different.

This is so true. It’s the little things that really do it for me. Like she sets the alarm at 6.30am to see him off for the launch and he cancels the alarm so she can get extra sleep. It’s one of the healthiest relationships I’ve seen on TV in general.
