It's watchable. Like its not a terrible drama. But I really don't like the plot. I'm at ep 8 and nothing original…
I'm afraid this is going to be a copycat of the original J drama then, I dropped that at 9th episode out of 11, because of ALL the reasons you have listed above :/
The japanese story didn't win me , I had to quit on the 9th episode but I couldn't care less about their fate any longer, I felt no connection whatsoever .
I'm willing to start this one as K-dramas are my soft spot maybe the story will be different here.
:) Thank you so much!!! :) I loved reading your comment!!! :) Indeed, we can't get away from INK. Once a fan,…
You're so very welcome, thank you for your kind comment :)
I have started the Thai version but I found the blond Naoki so weird I gave up lol, I might restart someday though, as I have already read lots of positive reviews about it and I loved Aomike in Full house Thai.
I loved the article, as a die hard fan of INK, I agree with you in parts.
Playful kiss was my gateway drama, the one that introduced me to dramaland, so I loved it back then, of course that now that I have watched tons of INK versions and a varied numbers of other dramas, I feel just like you wrote up there, it was the worst version indeed, and one of the worst dramas out there as well , but I still feel very attached to it sentimentally because of what it led me to.
I have tried to re-watch it these days and i just couldn't so I stopped before it ruined my memories lol.
Now I just LOVED the recent trilogy with Sato Kanta and Reina Visa, I think they are a match for the roles and the chemistry on-screen is perfect. I really hope they make more movies, we deserve at least the honeymoon.
I have already read the manga once and watched the anime twice, I love the opening song and of course everything else.
I do agree that the story is sexist and cliché, the first time I watched I kept waiting for the moment she would stop going after him after being turned down countless times, but I couldn't help supporting her love for him along the way as well. I'm always in for a good cheesy romance.
The TW remake is one of my favorites as well, Ariel Lin and Joe chen killed it, the honeymoon scene on TKA is the beeeest of the best, put to shame the horrible one from playful kiss lol, I can't forget that they were wearing P A J A M A S during that scene, it was laughable really.
I did watch and enjoyed Love in tokyo but once I learned about the age gap I couldn't help but think about it every episode. It felt quite odd to me.
Last but not least I haven't watched the Thai version, despite the fact that I loved Aomike in full house Thai, I found it weird that Mike played the role of a blond Naoki on that version O.O
Well I guess what summarizes best is that once you're bit by the INK bug, it's hard to run away, its poison goes straight to your heart.
agree with you. i think maybe its her personality that doesn't translates well from manga/anime to real life.
Yes exactly, I mean it's really hard to adapt something from a manga or anime as they tend to be over on faces and reactions, I think she did a pretty decent job to be honest.
In all sites the last eps are all raw.
I'll give it a try !

Great article! Congrats :)
In the manga she has the parrot almost 24/7 on the shoulder.
