I haven't even gotten to episode 18 and I already am annoyed with Lin Xiang. She acts so entitled and spoiled…
OH GOSH. YES. So glad you feel the same! I thought I was lacking some kind of understanding for her character...but seriously, she's the worst kind of entitled, spoilt and bratty!

Maybe because I've not read the novel or whatnot..but I truly have a great distaste towards Lin Xiang. 18 episodes in, and still every time she appears on screen, I just find myself rolling my eyes and feeling intolerable.. Can someone shed some light for me to at least try to see why is she so spoilt, bratty, entitled and self-absorb, basically being a selfish bitch all the time?! Hoping to find some space to understand her soon...cause if not, she's close to becoming my most disliked character in a chinese drama series. Also, I hate to think that there are some real-life celebrities out there with similar shitty disgusting behaviours like Lin Xiang and still able to retain their popularity in the industry.

This is such a heartwarming family drama. I get fuzzy feelings in so many different ways. No one is perfect yet everyone is so beautiful. Also, I think the casting is so fitting and characters so enjoyable. <3

I started this show with no expectations, just leaning on my liking towards the FL Qin Lan and also ML Godfrey. But, gosh with me being 5 episodes in at this point of writing...I find this show has truly went above and beyond my expectations! Loving the tone, the OST, the vibe, the cinematography and the plot and of course, the acting by the leads especially Godfrey! Only struggle I have is sometimes being distracted by the fact that Godfrey is no longer with us and watching his final work performance here along with the sentimental OST....just makes it that much more difficult to fully concentrate on the plot and immerse myself into the story. It is a bittersweet feeling watching this. ..and occasional conflicted feelings.

Yeah, from the wife's position it definitely can feel like a betrayal. And I'm getting a sense from episode 4 that their relationship from the beginning seems problematic already - i.e. the black & white wedding picture.

Title My Unfamiliar Family Spoiler
The only question is why would he date her if he was gay..I don't understand people
It is clearly shown at the end of episode 4 that he is still closeted. Being in closet refers to people who have not disclosed their sexual orientation or gender identity and aspects thereof, including sexual identity and sexual behaviour - and mind you, this isn't just referring to disclosure towards others but can also be in a sense towards their own self (confronting themselves). So, in a way he is literally "in hiding" and it is common for people in hiding to mask themselves, which sometimes involves acting with the intention to ensure their "secret" will never be exposed i.e. as shown in this show - him getting married to the wife. On top of that, made even more complicated is the array of societal and cultural challenges those belonging in this group are faced with in a country like South Korea. With all this in mind, one could expect the complexities of this group of people in such a position to be quite obvious.

Gosh, I love the mystery and plot twists! It's a slow but definitely thrilling ride so far! The slow pace makes the twists even sweeter when encountered! Giving me some "The World of the Married" (TWOTM) vibes, but this is a slower paced ride with it's own thrills! In a figurative way, TWOTM and this are both rollercoaster rides but differently designed in terms of loops, twists, pace! Also 4 episodes in, I was just thinking this drama could be very well be called "The Family Secrets". CAN'T WAIT FOR MORE! <3

This was my first ever Thai Lakorn and I watched it completely without any subtitle (since there is none available even today in 2020). I cried along the characters even though I did not know the language, but just from the acting and body languages I felt the emotions. This got me into the world of Thai dramas ever since! <3

WOW, the special 2 episodes post-finale felt like a gift in the form of a perfect summary of the whole show with some additional gap, commentary, behind fillers. What a beautiful outro! I will remember this drama for a long time. Truly, ONE OF A KIND. <3

For me, watching this feels like a whole extended very long music video. The OST, the casting, the plot, the love story, the feels. A part of me knows that them being together isn't very rational and perhaps inappropriate by society's standards, but yet when they are together I feel like when is ever love rational? <3

yea i would agree but then there was the girl in his class who is living with her mum who is also divorced but…
But to be honest, we were not given the luxury in the show to witness the actual process and depths of emotions the girl (Yoon No Eul) went through and probably had to work through. I also think there would be individual differences between children in dealing with trauma experiences - but in no way do I think it is a basic response or perhaps fair to expect or wish for children to be the "understanding" and "responsible" party since after all, like I said they are children and not yet an adult. Of course, there would be children that will be able to be very understanding towards situations and that should never be seen as a given response or ever taken for granted.

can i ask what happened to the cheating husband in the end? did he get what he deserved? i dont mind spoilers…
Not sure if I remember correctly, but I think the divorce took place around ep 6-7 or perhaps ep 8? and to be honest I don't know about revenge...since from my perspective it did not feel like revenge for me, rather it is the complexity of acting out from the mixture of obsession/hate/love. For me, to call it revenge feels very intentional and for the characters here...and the story it does not seem to fit right. If you want the actual episodes you can check it out all the recaps/summaries here: http://www.dramabeans.com/tag/a-couples-world/

Now, to explain that would require me to practically summarise all 16 episodes. The clip you watched was only the first few episodes. At this point, I still highly recommend you watch the whole show! It would definitely answer all your curiosities plus it is not exactly a slow-paced show...imagine riding a rollercoaster! ;)

Yeah there is a part in the show where they explained towards the end that both the mistress and the wife had similar characteristics/vibes(?) and that everything he did/bought for the mistress is exactly what he did for his wife. Obsession would explain why he could not move on from his wife and kept wanting to be involved with her despite having cheated on her....even at the end he even disgustingly and frustratingly asked if it was possible for them to go back to "normal" or before the whole cheating happened. Like how on earth?! lol.

Nope, he did not end up with anyone. At the end, he was full of regrets/remorse as he realised (TOO LATE) and perhaps learned(?) that he did care for his family and was somewhat deep in love/obsession/hate (all emotions strongly at the same time) with Sun Woo (Da Kyung gave him Sun Woo vibes when she was younger, they shared similar styles/whatnot). But, of course he was now left with literally nothing - because choices/actions carries consequences. Also, personally...the greatest issue I have with Lee Tae Oh, is that he DID NOT ONCE APOLOGISE PROPERLY/SINCERELY throughout and until the end. Like "I'm sorry" isn't a vocabulary he uses/wants to use.

In some ways, rather than what he deserved, I would say he ended in a way that everything blew up in his face - and lost everything, hit rock-bottom.
