Is the character this silly and dumb in the novel? This Duan Yu is annoying and the actor acting is bad. Worse is he's also not an eye candy and has the most screentime. I have seen screencaptures of one older version I think 2003 and that Duan Yu actor is gorgous with dimples.

My first time trying to watch a Demi God semi devil drama adaptation I never watch any before nor read any Jin Yong books and the Duan Yu guy is awful and goodness the story revolve around him. He so annoying and bad acting. Dropped. The other main character also not that outstanding. The girl who play wang yu yan face look too modern. She's pretty but maybe not suitable for the character? The drama lighting also too dark make everyone skin look greyish so not easy to the eyes. Feel free to call me shallow.

Yang Yang acting is still stiff and Dilireba is just playing herself but who cares anyway they are both very very pretty and good looking eye candy in here. Yang Yang character is relatable and loveable and suddenly I found Dilireba too cute. It's well written just that the romance is too slow burn.

I feel sorry for xing fei.. this team marketing is so weak. The filming has wrapped up for days but all photos and news we see are from fans. The production team hasn't done anything not even a weibo post. Other drama teams has released official character posters right away on first day of shooting.

update on 29/7 i take this back found out xing fei got a magazine spread special with the ml and liang jie. love her super long hairdo

because the storyline shows a toxic relationship and the female lead acting is awful. if there is no joseph the rating could be lower

She is a dedicated and professional actress. I like it too that she's down to earth and doesn't mind playing a second female lead and from rumours the script is too focus solely on the titular male lead. Some actress wouldn't want a supporting role when they're at her position. I like her more and more.

Well I was just venting my frustration at the billing order and also because although Xing Fei's character is nice and memorable in the book we feel that the production is quite poor based on the reuters pictures of cast in costumes. Even if I end up watching this it might only be for Xing Fei's cut, everything else is unattractive at this point including the male lead Qin Jun Jie, the storyline, the visuals. FYI I don't like Liang Jie's acting but I don't dislike her either. I know she has hit with the Eternal series. I think she and Xing Fei's status are at same level. If you are Liang Jie's fan I think she is in good hands. She is a favourite of the producer and this is her 5th or 6th work under the producer. For Xing Fei it is only 2nd. This might be tailor made for Liang Jie to stardom.
