Inconsistent with the "Where to watch" feature, above, Lovely Runner is not available on Netflix in my country…
It's not inconsistent, it's just that Netflix only very recently bought distribution rights, and I think they might still have to wait for Viki's exclusivity period to lapse before they can release it.

That's not hacking. It's poor password controls. An ex-girlfriend or boyfriend of anyone at tvn could have done…
I thought it was more likely to be some teenager learning to pen test, tries their luck on tVN's YT and whoops, it works. So they do what any benign "hacker" (pen tester, really) does: change the channel name and maybe delete some recent videos, just enough to draw attention to the breach.

It's never a good idea to tell a company directly that they have a vulnerability, because rather than thanking you for drawing their attention to it, they'll go after you with police and/or lawyers for trying to "hack" them.

This is the same channel you promoted in another drama's comment section a couple of months ago, except the story that time was that it was your girlfriend's birthday 🀣

I hope there'll be next season where they're at the university it'll be fun
This format works for a high school, where everything is small-scale and highly structured, and the students are underage and reliant on/at the mercy of the teachers as authority figures.

Anyone who's attended university will know why this format won't work in that environment.

Great, good cast. I'm a fan of all of them, esp. Na-eun.Headline was a bit hard to read, do we have to have the…
The funny thing is, it's not even a translation of the Korean source, MDL have inserted KPop group names themselves. The promo articles on Naver just list the actors' names. (Also, we're only naming boy bands? Na-Eun was an idol, too... Pick a lane, MDL.)

This surely can't possibly be better than Atypical Family. Just to point, Atypical is original, and Lovely Runner…
There's no such thing, objectively speaking, as a "better" or "best" drama - only dramas that you like or dislike (and the answer to that will be different for everyone). This is why awards shows (be it Baeksangs, Cannes, Oscars, BAFTAs, etc.) are honestly a meaningless popularity contest. Same goes for the ratings on MDL. I imagine once the hype dies down, Lovely Runner will find its "true" rating (I'm guessing mid-8s, maybe high-8s if its lucky). It was a fun, light drama.

(Atypical Family has shades of The Incredibles, Midnight Romance is the same schtick Director Ahn covered in his previous projects SITR and OSN. Nothing wrong with them, but most dramas are derivative.)

in my 15 years of watching kdrama/cdrama (yes I'm old) this is the first one I rewatched just after finishing…
Hey fellow oldie πŸ‘‹ πŸ˜‰ 18 years of kdramas/jdramas (and a few cdramas and tdramas) for me. Not the first one I've immediately rewatched (there are a few I've spammed so hard I can repeat entire scenes of dialogue with the cast), but the first in maybe four or five years. It was unexpectedly and refreshingly fun to watch. And the 2008 flashbacks were super nostalgic!

anyone who knows enough Korean knows that kdramas always have their own English titles and Korean titles...
I speak Korean, used to live there, and have been watching kdramas for nearly 20 years. They don't always have their own (i.e. different) titles. In fact, back before streaming services, they used not to have English titles at all, other than the translations the fansubbing teams came up with.

Why even translate the title like this? Anyone who knows enough Korean to know the actual translation of the native…
"I Openly Dream of Cinderella" is pretty spot on. λŒ€λ†“κ³  (the "openly" part) is the only part that doesn't have a clean 1:1 translation. It's generally used for phases like "laugh in [someone's] face" or "lie to [someone's] face".

Are you sure it's the drama...or a 1hr recap?! The pacing is crazy lmao
Slow reply, sorry, not online much lately!

This is definitely the drama. And yes, the pacing is truly whiplash-inducing.

to people complaining about romance... if there is some, only a little bit and maybe it will be even important…
The issue, as I see it, is that far too often the romance/love triangle ISN'T important to the plot, and often takes valuable screen time away from more interesting/core storylines and messes with the relationship dynamics. I've been watching kdramas since 2006, and it's been one of the key drivers in me taking "Frustration Breaks" from kdramaland. Nothing childish about enjoying good screenwriting.

MBN looks like they released it in full on YT? https://youtu.be/6BRy1p1ujiQ

No subs for the non-Korean speakers, though. And the pacing is odd - like they tried to fit all the key scenes of a full length drama into an hour or so...

Person Yang Jin Sung
Just looked her up after rewatching BOTC. Found a couple of articles published yesterday (what are the odds?!) saying she's quietly dropped out of showbiz, gotten married, and that she gave birth to a daughter in 2020. Not sure how credible it is, but it's the only info going around.

UPDATE: found more articles, but they're all rewording of the same thing.

What's with the drinking in this drama?!?I know kdramas have scenes like that, because south.kor is a drinking…
I'm guessing you've never lived in Korea. This drama isn't normalising drinking - it's reflecting society as it actually is. Excessive drinking is normal for a lot of people there, as is functional alcoholism.

What does this mean though? Will it never air? Will the episode still appear on Netflix?
Did you just read the headline and not the body of the article? It literally says "postpone" in the second last paragraph.
