To me, more supporting characters make the drama look real. Life is not all about the three leads: FL, ML, and SML. What I like about Chinese dramas is that the majority of the main charactors end up with someone. In contrast, in K-dramas, two men often fight over one woman, as if there are no other options for the SML.
