I feel like LSY is a bully to XJ. His gestures weren't gentle, like when he kicked her( unintentionally) and she falled down the stairs. She could have gotten broken arms or legs. His way of approaching her were irritated, like messing her head, said opposite of how he felt about her.

Can't blame the FL for not liking the ML yet. We can't control whom you fall in love with. That's why love is complicated. The heart wants what it wants. I think we all have been through something like this where we like someone else who didn't like us. I think this is built up for the ending to be heart wrenching reunion between the leads.
