If it was executed correctly by the producer, i think it can be done, we still have 10 episodes left. One episode could be brake up. Korean dramas are mostly 16 episodes and they could tell the story beginning to end and wrap up nicely. Why not in this drama

Fl does care about. Episode 13 when SFL showed up, FL facial expression changed. You can tell she was unsecured about her relationship with ML. Episode 14, when ML had to spend time training the SFL, she was jealous.
