definitely overrated, no words to describe how different it is from before watching it to now when I finished…
thank you for this comment! I am currently watching the 6th ep and not gonna lie some scenes are so boring and there is no chemistry between some characters/actors. I'm not talking about the romance like in some scenes I find the acting a bit shallow and funnily enough I know for a fact that the cast is full of veteran or good actors. I don't know what happened in this show that made them look like rookie actors, maybe it's because of the writing... also I have to say that before starting this show I was suspecting this to be an overrated show but tried to be non-judgemental. I saw lots of fans and a really high rating in MDL, so I was confused if I am the problem or not... also I find it so annoying that Songrim people are expecting the ML to control his power as soon as possible even without trying to teach him how to.. like I get that Park Jin is supposed to delay this for ML's good and etc. but the logic is so ridiculous. It feels like writers didn't want to waste time for the plot development and as a result some scenes feel like a wattpad novel written by a teenager..
Not gonna lie; I got bored in the middle of the series, but I think it was my fault as I do not prefer watching series longer than 16/20 episodes most of the time. I guess I wasn't in the mood for a long commitment when I started watching. I also questioned if I was watching this series for the plot or for Arthur Chen at certain point. Still finished the series after taking a break for 4 months or so. But gosh.. I hated the logic and ending of the revenge plot so so much. I especially hated the last few episodes when Gao Jian Hong suddenly got a brain tumour. Felt like, as he was a villain and a previous friend, they couldn't find a way to make the story end in satisfaction and just chose the easy way out... I did not pity him at all and I can't understand how he can be forgiven that easily after all the things he had done just because he has cancer??!! Maybe I should've stopped watching the series right before Li Xun went to prison. As a side note, the miscommunication / non-communication throughout this series irritated me a lot but I was able to ignore it for a while. The cherry on top was the FL's naive and pushover personality. I understand that she loves Li Xun and wants to support him but girl.. please have backbone for a min. However, I can't deny that the acting and production were good, and the leads had really good chemistry. So I can say that it is a good romance series if you are okay with the things I mentioned above.
I have to say, this is better than the original. I was such a fan of School 2013 back in 2012, in my mind for that era it was one of the peak bromance shows.. but this series is something else, I don't even want to compare it with School 2013. I still remember every single detail of the original show, but I was curious and excited while watching every sec of High School Frenemy. I can say that they took the original show and made it 10x better without losing the main characters' plot and sentimentality. For me, this show is an original and not related to School 2013. I can also say that this show is one of the best Thai shows I've ever watched and better than most of the BLs. The chem of SkyNani is perfect and I'm so excited for their new show Wu!! In my heart, I gave this show 100/10!
Now this is how you make drama. They didnt jump eo at first glance, there was some really good developement. Chemistry…
100% agree with your comment! I saw some people found this drama boring and I even saw comments saying this show had no plot but for me the pace was pretty good. As you said I would love to see more cute skinship moments too, other than that it was a quick and great watch.
I'm currently watching ep 7 and the only dumb thing about this show is ML's endless desire to touch every single piece of evidence with his bare hands.. like girl please at least wear a glove, you're already the scapegoat why are you making more DNA evidence??
I think one of the main reason that makes this drama so entertaining is the chemistry between the leads. Like…
OMG yes! That is the perfect explanation. After the last episode I felt like I watched a lot intimate scenes although they were not physically intimate a lot.
This must be one of the best Chinese dramas that I have ever watched. My C-Drama repertoire is not as broad as K-Drama and J-Drama but I watched a lot of historical and wuxia genres. I don't know how to explain this but this show as a whole (acting, chemistry, plot, cinematography etc.) was so captivating. As an Asian drama viewer, I tend to get bored when a show has more than 24 episodes (even though I am in love with the plot) so Chinese dramas were always a challenge for me. I tend to take a few days of breaks in the middle. However, I started watching this show on Sunday and finished it on a Tuesday night and I want to point out that I go to work on weekdays. I am so shocked by myself. Everything was so perfect for me. It was a slow burn but I did not care about it at all, it didn't bother me. I was too captivated by the revenge and political plots as well hence I didn't skip a second while watching 40 eps.
For me, I fell in love with the 2nd couple and kept watching just for them not gonna lie. But this doesn't mean that 1st couple's chem was bad or anything I didn't skip their parts at all. I don't know exactly why but I think 2nd couple intrigued me more and I would be happier if they were the main couple just to see them more. However, with honesty, they had plenty of scenes together (compared to 2nd couples in other shows). It would be awesome if we could see Louis and Nat Chen as a couple again as their chemistry and acting were perfect!
Hey guys, does someone know where can I watch this with good eng subs? I am kind of getting frustrated with the quality of Mango tv subs and every single site is using these "official" subs. If someone knows a website that is translating this show on their own please tell me.
I saw an aticle about the screenwriter and she announced that they signed the contract for season 2 . Also she said that after season 2 and its successful airing they will release some "intimate cut scenes" (my guess is it will be on an online platform to avoid censorship in china)
One of the best Chinese BLs I have watched! I love the fact that they can show their chemistry without any excessive kinship (due to censorship). Similar to Untamed, I liked the little *innuendos* :) Can't wait for Season 2 and the additional cut scenes that the writer talked about.
Can someone please tell me where can I read the novel for free with eng translation? I am loving this story but I feel like they cut lots of important details/scenes from the book while producing this series. I know for a fact that there is an official translation but unfortunately in my country I can't access the original site and I am unable to buy the book from Amazon because of the currency issue ...
I have 2 episodes to go and then it's finished as well. I didn't know about season 2. It's a good drama 🤗Have…
Yes, I did! It was excellent too. Especially when you think about it, the main cast consisted of only 4 or 5 characters (in my opinion) and they achieved to maintain the time loop plot without boring us. I wasn't expecting it to be this excellent. I started to watch Reset because of the main lead who I knew from You Are My Hero and I am so glad that I did watch it :)
As a side note, the miscommunication / non-communication throughout this series irritated me a lot but I was able to ignore it for a while. The cherry on top was the FL's naive and pushover personality. I understand that she loves Li Xun and wants to support him but girl.. please have backbone for a min.
