What I really appreciate about this drama is the character background. Like all of the main characters have appeared before and then did something needed for the story or somehow were used in several situations/have several purposes or goals. It can be seen as reusing the same characters/actors but I like to view it in a positive light that is it makes the characters have more depth.

I am now a little bit confused by your comment LOL But first I don't think the Crown Princess' dad wants to kill the little prince but wants to kill Dam-i, the girl twin because it is considered unthinkable that the future crown prince and king shared a womb with a woman (don't know why but it's Joseon and royal family and drama at that so anything is possible and it was so stated by the king at the very beginning).
And second I don't know where you read that or if it is true but I think your sentence "why would you want to protect your grandchild" is somewhat wrong. Haha Even though your son is first to be the king his child would be next on the throne so he needs to be alive by then and IT IS YOUR GRANDSON, what more reason to protect him do you need?

I think nobody understands that... you can interpret it in many ways but I think the most logical is that there is a cut of her returning from abroad when the car interier changes from black to red and then they just give us snippets of them living happily together ever since. Still crappy editing and directing with this kind of messy ending.

Agreed!! Nobody really cared about changing face in NIF or other dramas as well as the other flaws that are actually more than common but somehow this drama just gets all the hate. Poor drama...

According to the mdl calendar schedule (https://kisskh.at/episode-calendar) it's 1 episode on friday and saturday but 2 episodes sunday to wednesday... but then it's kinda messed up because after ep 18 they show that ep 23 will be aired the next day so I don't know but if we get 2 eps today that would be great though I also read elsewhere it's 1 episode sunday to wednesday which doesn't make sense because we got episode yesteraday and before as well. 😂😂😂 Broadcast confusion level chinese drama....
I really love this! Peng Xiao Ran sure is a great actress. I loved her in GMP because her acting made me feel all the emotions with her. And here again with a different role. I love how Jiuling sometimes just stares into nowhere and thinks but you can see in her eyes that she's sad. I didn't know any of the male characters before but now I love all of them. I kinda wish she could keep the full harem XDXDXD
Started this drama today and after two episodes I like what's happening here more than the Korean version even though overall I find the K-version better. The thing is that here I see more potential for the ML+FL relationship and I ship the second FL+ML and second ML+FL less than in the original. I loved the second leads there and actually rooted for them to end up with the main leads because they had a lot of time to grow on us and give us their stories. Here, even though the second leads are still good I kinda see the chemistry between the leads clearer which is something I appreciate to enjoy the lead couple more. On the other hand as I said I found the original to be a better drama because of the deeper stories of all the characters. So here's my torn heart not being able to decipher which version it actually appreciates more lol...

Yes! I'm also really happy that she chooses completely different roles all the time. Many actresses are stuck to one signature role type and don't go or can't go outside the comfort zone or really search for variety on the other hand Bai Lu seems new while comfortable in every role I've seen her play.
I'm happy for two reasons. First that they only let us suffer for 24 episodes while we'll be happy for 30 and second that they brought this concept of 2 lifetimes 2 series which makes it possible to have this kind of realistic palace politics story (as a whole drama) while still getting a happy ending in F&E. Power struggle irl mostly doesn't end up well for the nice people and dramas often tend to give us the HE at the expense of a realistic portrayal so I'm happy that such a story exsists in dramaland and at the same time it's watchable even with the sad ending (which I don't like) because of the sequel. Now let's wait for F&E to air!!! <3 <3
