Dear lord its been so long since i ve seen such bad acting and such nonsense dialogues! As if a 5 yo wrote the…
There's a cute kid that appears a few episodes in and essentially makes it somewhat watchable.

Here is whats my thoughts actually...Because of both actors. Dark night of the soul was better story, FL was nah…
With "Dark night of the soul", do you mean "Embrace in the Dark Night"?

why nobody is talking about the fake death in front of the child? that's traumatizing
To be fair, that child is more emotionally mature than the adults in this show.

Title Love of Replica Spoiler
So basically the real Xixi (An Yue) had a 50% chance of developing cancer so the dad tried to make replicas? Somehow…
(Prolly don't care anymore but..)

- Yes, essentially the plot is that we made some clones just to have a backup if the real kid developers cancer, but then the An lady ran away with the real kid while pretending the fake one died and labelling the actual fake one the real one. So it was An, FL's "mother", and ML's father only knew when FL 'was already 8 years old' (or so he claimed towards the villain).

- When ML sneaks into the study, FL covers for him by keeping the father on the live stream, which lets ML and his remote hacker gain admin access to the evil lair's computer system.

Just want to share something funny. So I'm at the end of ep 15 and they're all being serious, right, and then…
That sudden advert really threw me out of it too.

Yes, people are dying here, but first, and more importantly, a word from our sponsor...

I’m so confused… was An Yue the real daughter and XiXi the clone? I could’ve sworn ML’s dad said they…
An Yue is the real daughter and XiXi is the clone, but the father got super obsessed with XiXi and in the end he doesn't care.

the actors look promising, but the horrible dubbing is the trigger for me to drop watching this drama 🥲
The first episode (I think) has super broken audio/dubbing for some characters. It gets better, don't worry!

Two couples kiss, but the seconds leads are very tame (and less so in Mysterious Love).
I think the leads sleep together in both shows.

Compared to https://kisskh.at/64767-ban-yin#comment-25124824 :

Positives:
That one bromance pairing delivers.
The ML still has a few crazy moments, but he's much more under control in his acting than in Mysterious Love.
The FL delivers a better FL performance, and does the double role thing well.
The relationship doesn't have as many creepy things on the ML's part, and I suppose the leads' chemistry is more palpable.

Negatives:
The cute kid isn't really cute-kidding (was the best part of Mysterious Love).
The background music is horribly bad, like Netflix copyrighted stuff replacement level.
In the first episode or so, audio/dubbing sucks. Fortunately it gets better.
On Mysterious Love Feb 13, 2026
Never before did we have to stop so often just to laugh at what the ML's face is contorting into.

For a while, the second leads are a lot better than the main leads.

The only stand-out acting performance and character is the child Xingxing. The show essentially sucks before she appears.

The whole "5 years ago" thing is told so poorly and the set pieces of it make so little sense that drip-feeding a little back story in each episode can be infuriating. Yet so much screentime is spent on it that virtually nothing happens in the present timeline.

( Far below in the comments, this deleted scenes video was linked: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWXemyDi_rw )

tldr: awful story, somewhat disturbing ML, chemistry a wacky mix of zero attraction with decent kisses; only the child and maybe the SML are good in their roles

What part did you hate, that he escapes the novel-game 'through the power of love', or that due to transmigration…
Well that was already ruled out in EP01, around these lines:

You're not from this world either, are you?
What's your quest?

(When FL met ML in the weirdly communal bathroom.)

THE OST ALBUM IS OUT ON SPOTIFY Y'ALL https://open.spotify.com/album/5hvNRtyWXFRD8lzmgPGR9H?si=zj4ZuVXoSoyqho1xcq1j_A
Wasn't there a fourth song that's only used like once? Maybe I'm hallucinating..
(I don't mean that the one song has a male singer version that's used only once, which is of course available on Spotify there.)

@Virginia: Verticals as in vertically filmed as in meant for phone screens. Typically 2-3 minutes per "episode".
