As someone who watched the og version One Spring Night, I understand why some who watched OSN don't like this adaptation. Many love the korean og version and think it is exceptional. It is hard when you think something is perfect to like something that was inspired from it, the chances are you will only see the flaws ( and maybe there are some but that's not my point here) .. Personally, when I watched OSN, I didnt feel that way. OSN isn't a favorite of mine. I thought it was an ok kdrama. That is it. This doesn't mean it is bad. This is just my opinion. While watching the IKILY, I did notice the differences in the plot and the changes they made. I liked them. & Though it is inspired from OSN, i believe IKILY is great in its own right. I think one can question and criticize the director and writer choices, but one cannot compare the actors skills. To me it doesn't mean much and doesnt make sense as they are portraying different characters, playing with different actors in a different set ... This is why I won't make any comparison with the Korean actor who played the main ML in the k version. I personally believe that each actor has his own understanding of the character and thus his own way of portraying it. Whether you like it or not, It depends on your view, on whether the actor's acting skills convinced you or not...This is subjective. You can like an actor's performance or hate it. It doesn't mean that actor is bad or good. Your judgment entitles only your person... Just know that both Zhang WanYi and Jung Hae In are both acclaimed actors in their respective countries. And I hope those who want to watch either version, don't be discouraged by the negativity.. give it a go and decide by yourself whether you like it or not.

Both are similar so it depends why you didn't like OSN in the first place! But I would say give it a try especially if you didn't dislike the main premise of OSN ( cause they kept it) I watched both and I like the Chinese remake way more. A bit longer than the original but i didnt mind it and i wasnt bored. The tweaks they made worked well with the story and were pretty convincing. The actors were excellent and the chemistry between the leads was good too.

Exactly my thoughts. Zhao Jin is such an endearing character. he's the reason Im enjoying this drama. Some people are disliking his character I guess because we're so used to seeing more possessive male lead. In some ways , many got the impression that the male lead should be more "masculine" ( obv the toxic kind) and aggressive in his pursuit and expression of love. while here we saw a male lead that's much softer than usual MLs and way more respectful of the FL feelings and choices. Zhang WanYi brought this character to life. His performance was excellent and he matched well with SunYi.

Also PY refused to breakup not only because he thought its a small insignificant infatuation ( as he said) but deep down because 1. he was insecure and controlled by his father. XN was probably the only thing that his father didn't choose for him / agree on and was entirely his choice. 2. he didn't want to lose to someone especially to the male lead. he regarded him as inferior and looked down on him.. he said it in one episode he didn't care if he got back together with XN or not as long as she breakup with the male lead he was content.

Peng Yuan didn't want to break up not because of love. It was never about Xu Nuo or their 10 years relationship. He just didn't want to lose to Zhao Jin ( he looked down on him and saw him as inferior.. )

Ok but keep in mind that my Chinese is not that good so maybe I misunderstood some things ZJ is trying to reach someone on the phone but it's turned off. he's out and drunk with his colleague and yelling how can she be this heartless to me, his colleague apologizing to the people at the restaurant Xn shows up at his appartement and his ex telling XN that ZJ is drunk and seems to be in a bad mood. Then ZJ asking XN if he can trust her, If she won't change her mind.. Then XN asking her ex if he's still willing to be with her ( 🙄 😒) Then XN with ZJ and she's saying sthing about his past .. sorry didn't understand the rrst of what XN said at the end cause my chinese isn't that advanced tbh 😅
watched episode 22 preview and man how I hate the exes ! I hope the preview is misleading and things don't take the wrong turn cause I would def hate it!
4 episodes in and I like it way more than OSN. If this is really a remake than I'm really happy with the changes they made. I especially like the male lead in this version. He has my heart.

The subber hasn't dropped the project and so far no one else has picked this project other than her. obv it's taking long as they're doing it for free and they have a life too... so patience it will come...
