I agree with you. These past latest episodes had disappointed me with where storyline has been going, it wasn't as climatic and interesting as it used to be like in past episodes. I already expected it way before that Song Han was evil so the revelation of him being a villain was anticlimactic for me and like you said, I don't think there is a need to bring more focus on his character. So these recent scenes felt more like a filler to me.
These past few episodes lately had been a very stressful and a bit of a frustrating ride, my only breather is the small interactions between Dou Zhao and Song Mo. The amount of dislikable characters in this drama keeps increasing at each episode, have yet to see the demise of main villain.
