ngl i still love shou hua and yang xi story, yes their story was more heavy on the angst compared to the other couples but that doesnt mean their story was overall that bad, i appreciate their story too and i personally think it just depends on peoples preferences on what type of romance trope they look for 🤷♀️

I am a casual watcher too but I take importance on whether I can connect well with a character or not. I don't drop dramas quickly, if I see they have potential I usually stick around to watch more eps unless they don't fully convince me then that is the time I drop. But don't worry I am not toxic type, when I don't like something about a drama, I just share my criticism and then that is it. I don't go around like other users who spread negativity in the comment section.
