okay so i finsihed this and i gotta say i loved it was initially 9/10 but once i figures the real story i just had to give it a 10/10 but.. i would say this is hit or miss it can be realll good or realll bad, just like how u see the reviews section calling this one a masterpiece but someother ppl didnt rlly enjoy it
i def think this is one of those movies where u gotta connect the dots to figure out the story, u wont undertsand it just by simply watching and not processing anything afterwards, ngl i too was super confused with where the story was really headin to but once i digested everything and connected the dots i saw the bigger picture but depending on how you interpret this u can get different stories one is ben being a pyhcopathic killer (this is the path i choose to believe in) since phycos have a tendecy to keep memorable items whihc they deem as thier trophies from people as shown in the movie where he keeps strange items in the toilet another thing would be how ben stated that he has never shed tears ever in his life, this is another phcopathic characteristic he also said that he "plays" as his job not too sure what that is but its sus. Also during the cafe meeting ben said that he felt jealous when haemi said jong su was the only one she could trust this feeling of jealousy might have been his reason to kill haemi another thing was how haemi's cat boiler moves over to ben's house and how haemi's house was all tidy before her going missing all these strongly point to pyhcopathic behaviour to me
another thing i would like to point out is how ben says that he burn downs greenhouses as his hobby and how he already burnt one down but jongsu couldnt find it. I think he never burnt down any greenhouses but the greenhouses were actually a metaphor refering to women who he was with (but im not really sure what greenhouses n the women he were with have in common other than them being outgoing and bright/warm people just like how greenhouses are since thier warm all year) also another scene where he went over to the lake dont u think its a bit sus i think he goes there to dump his victims bodies ( jongsu might have gone over to the lake and found some evidence of a body and that might have been why he had such a strong will to kill ben as he might have found a body or evidence ponting to ben killing haemi) another thing that i would say be definitive proof to haemi being killed was before she she was unreachable she made one last call to jongsu and in the backgroun you could here someone yelling dont go there and you could hear her breathing heavily this indicates she must have been in danger and someone is out to catch n kill her oh also the makeup is in reference to cremation of bodies - makeup and cremation are spelt the same in Korean so this suggests that something is def goin on
but... theres also somethings that dont really pan out well
like how when ben gets stab the feelings he gave off were different idk how to explain it but i dont expect pyhcopaths to give of that vibe while their dying he seemed to just accept it and he even hugged jongsu whihc was odd to me if he was a phyopathic killer..
there were actually a whole lot more theories out there that made me want to reconsider my beliefs coz its actually insane how much detail there is to this movie that there could be lots of other outcomes to it and its insane how thier all really plausible outcomes
in conclusion this is a masterpiece and i enjoyed it 100x more after connecting the dots def rec it
