there's something really amazing about this show. is it peak television? no. does it showcase a healthy relationship? not really. it has something way more impressive: it's the most bearable MAME adaptation out there. STANDING OVATION!! at times, it even made me feel something for the characters. 5/10

i wish ryan felt like less of a blank slate character... i just never really felt like i knew what he was about, even though he was meant to be the mc. the time skip made sense, but there was not enough time to redevelop the relationship. them going back to how it was is a bit... unrealistic. 5 years is SUCH a long TIMEEEE!! it would've worked if they had more than half of an episode to reconnect. it makes little sense this way. i did like janeryan, but it's just cause it's offgun... one thing that made me really happy was to see that even after 5 years, the trainees still kept in contact and were close friends. so cute. imo, their friendship is the best thing the show has going for it.

fair enough. i like to consider all factors ~ but i understand your point too. story is definitely the most important
