I don't think I've ever seen two dramas so similar like this one and Something in the rain. Everything is almost the same: the vibe, the plot, the music and even the cast. Compared to SITR One Spring Night is a bit slower and the leads have less chemistry in my opinion. But I really liked secondary stories in both of them. When it comes to SITR I liked the first half much more, with OSN it's the opposite, it grew on me slowly and I liked the second half better. Instead of sexual harassment topic we have the relationship between sisters portrayed and their separate stories too (I love the youngest sister's outfits btw). Instead of the ML being younger than the FL here he has got a child. The FL's ex is not as horrible of a person as it was in SITR but his behaviour is quite strange and he doesn't understand anything she says to him about their relationship (don't want to spoil too much). And ufff fortunately the parents are not as hardcore as the mother in SITR. I also have this problem with those two dramas: the songs in the soundtrack are truly beautiful but for some reason that I can't comprehend they are extremely overplayed. In One Spring Night it was less annoying for me, maybe because I just liked the songs more. But still why would you play one song 5 times in one episode? Use more songs if you want to play them so frequently, I really don't get that. This comment is already too long but I must mention the acting in OSN. It was phenomenal, every scene felt realistic and sincere to the point it seemed like watching real people's lives.
Why does she love him? Why does he love her? Why does his child loves her?No reason at all, I guess i can pass…
The same thing bothered me in Something in the rain, It lacked depth, they barely even talked about anything and it seemed as if they fell in love just because
The controversies are not undeserved but I quite enjoyed the drama nevertheless. Cons: - cultural appropriation (and that cringey character) - too much violence - over the top "special effects" - ML's mother - there's comedy but I don't remember laughing - Kang Ji Wook character and his part of the plot could've been done better (I would prefer him to be just good friends with Saet Byul) Pros: - Kim Yoo Jung is gorgeous and I really liked her acting (I love the name Saet Byul btw) - Dae Hyun is probably the cutest Ji Chang Wook's character - just the convenience store setting in general - the chemistry between the leads - I don't even mind the lack of serious kissing scenes etc. they didn't even need that in my opinion - the relationship between sisters - the music - I liked every song quite much ("Treasure" has my heart) - I liked how light the drama was, it helped me relieve stress when I really needed that
I haven't seen many older dramas but this one definitely surpassed my expectations for an 2010 show. I truly hate the woman-pretends-to-be-a-man trope but I also love PMY so I had to watch this one anyway. It was an okay drama I would say, the characters were pretty interesting and fun. The story is a much weaker point in my opinion, not much happens during that 20 eps. I wish they have added more comedy or more action/drama or both. I liked the music very much but what I loved the most were the costumes. They were FABULOUS! One of the prettiest hanboks and other outfits I've seen in a historical drama
It would be an amazing drama if there wasn't that weird and quite annoying love triangle or even square. I loved the slight The Office vibes at the beginning, I wish the whole show was like that and focus more on work stuff rather than romances
Just a messed up plot. Characters are not likable. Not even one.
Exactly, also dispite liking the cast in general I didn't like acting of most of them here, it was too theatrical and kinda forced, they seem not to like the drama either 😂 The plot is like a cheap telenovela that would air in my local TV 😜
