Yes, the cinematography is darker in mood in the C-drama and therefore more atmospheric. I think it gives an idea of the period of time depicted than this one with the bright crisp cinematography.

I still love the Chinese drama more. The FL is spunkier in that version and there is more intensity to the C-drama. When the mother left I really felt it in the C-drama. The child actors though were very good in the korean version.
