What happens is Ae nearly kills Trump (in defense of Pete, bc of other bad things, Trump DESERVES it), and then is at risk of getting expelled and getting thrown in jail. So Pete tells his father (who does not approve of Pete's relationship with Ae) that he will go back to Germany with him if his father will help Ae. His father does and Pete leaves for 3 years, but when he comes back Pete and Ae are reunited.
