I don't hate Ben. But Ben was the initiative taker in almost every moment (getting)together with NeungDiao, so third option would have been NOT to anwser at all? He should realise all is lost in his relation to his Crush now, very sad tho Maybe he will be wiser in his (renewed) relation to Chopper or future love interest? And have learned his lesson and have the courage to tell his dad the truth some day
Ben's actions will have NeungDiao not open up his heart soon to anyone anymore, ...unless it's Palm of course…
Ben's actions (the kiss, the denial or lie ) were necessary in the story for NeungDiao's character development and Palm's sacrificy to erase Ben's kiss. Making sense now lol (Not my mother language obviously)

The story has it's questionable details lol like when Palm's dad is scolding him for minutes in front of the hospital reception, shouldn't the nurse tell them to keep it down or do her job to calm them down ? How much time was between the kiss and the banner incident at the school stairs ? 6-8 weeks? A broken arm healed already and no problem hugging Neung?
