This going to be really challenging role for her🤭

The Story (Spoiler-Free)

The story begins when a Bai Zhi is discovered by a scholar named Xu Chenghuai (许承怀) inside a library. Xu Chenghuai teaches it to read, and the yokai eventually takes on the form of a young woman named Chongchong (虫虫) .

Chongchong falls deeply in love with Xu Chenghuai. However, she learns about love, jealousy, and human emotions only from books — she has never truly experienced them herself. When Xu Chenghuai's heart belongs to someone else, Chongchong's limited understanding of human feelings leads her to make a terrible mistake.

The consequences of this mistake haunt her for years. Later, she appears in a town called Lian Shui Xiang (连水乡) under the guise of "Doctor Shen" (沈大夫) and a servant named Chongchong. There, she uses another yokai called "An Dao" (暗刀 — Dark Blade) to manipulate the townspeople, trying to understand love and jealousy by observing human behavior in staged romantic situations.

Tao Yao and her companions eventually arrive and begin to unravel the mystery.

So someone said Xiening plays as book worm baizhi from book 4:

The Bookworm (百知 / Bǎi Zhī) arc is part of Book Four of Bai Yao Pu (百妖谱), within the "Si Fu Arc" (司府篇) . It tells the tragic story of a rare yokai born from books — a creature that understands everything intellectually but cannot grasp the human heart.

someone in rednote said she plays as bookworm baizhi

They said she is kind of bug??

Seems like thay are going to film "The Eye Of Buddha" from book 3 arc 6 today. This one is kinda introduction for The Bian Bureau and the characters who works for SKL but TY still dont't know he was the leader of them.

This arc introduces Luo Xian (罗先) , a member of the mysterious Bian Bureau (狴犴司) , and his powerful weapon, the Buddha's Eye (佛眼) —a rare yokai that can reveal any hidden demon. The story follows Tao Yao as she gets entangled in Luo Xian's mission to General Duan's (段将军) haunted estate, where nightmares manifest as real monsters. The arc gradually reveals a much larger conspiracy involving the Bai Yao Pu (百妖谱) itself.
