I wholeheartedly agree. I will also see it 'till the end, although I do fear about the romcom. I just finished ep6 and SPOILER AHEAD . . . . |When he was stuck in the burning house and the others had to choose between going to Doki to get him out or following the car with the victims, Goeun said "Doki comes first" which was massivley disappointing and just not her character. Not in such a scenario, especially with that type of victims... This alone makes me fear for an upcoming romcom subplot. And since we saw that they, as a couple, simply don't match besides their traumatic past and let's call it taxi vengeance job, it's going to be forced, brutal and going against their own character traits which we came to love in S1 and hoped to have more of in S2. Besides, about the vengeance part: it IS unsatisfactory because the perpetrators are not really getting any punishment. Okay, previous trot singer stepped on a mine and will most likely lose a limb or two, but the one from ep6? He was beyond cruel, and Doki just dumped him and then... nothing? Sure, the guy lost his properties and valuables, but where is the repentance and pain.. And between us, Doki, just because you can't actually end the bad guy doesn't mean he has to be actually wholly intact. With that guy from ep6 maybe a broken ankle or two fingers should have been the bare minimum.| . . spoiler over
Anyway, the music is overused, the hacking in ep6 had me already roll my eyes, there is much brooding, less scheming, little punishment, many lucky coincidences and the jokes as the one common base throughout an episode just doesn't cut it. I am sad. Vagabond didn't get a S2, which made me go up the walls, and I was so hyped for Taxi Driver S2... so pleeease please don't have the characters become shallow...
