gotta praise whoever was responsible for the casting (plus, of course, the directors) of this show because the chemistry between these actors never ceases to amaze me. i'm now rewatching the show, and can't stop thinking about how much i love the "support role" actors and their characters --- all of them, even the freaking teacher. at this point, we all know matsmumoto leo deserves the world (let alone a main lead role, hopefully soon, on his next bl project), but man: how come they all have such good chemistry?? i could've watched a whole series of just kakeru's friend group being silly, and i mean it. anyway. great actors, great casting, great directors. def a feel-good drama at its best. i'm obsessed with kakeru cluelessly falling in love with yamato. also, i'm never getting over the saturated cinematography of this show, and the way - to me at least - it semiotically intertwines with how both warm and overwhelming it feels to fall in love for the first time. like 😭😭😭😭 god

specifically in "takara-kun to amagi-kun", i think he looks quite similar to both sato yusuke (mr. unlucky has no choice but to kiss) and yamada james takeshi (7 days: friday to sunday)

i love it. i'm glad i didn't give up on the first ep, which was admittedly a bit meh, pacing-wise, but the visuals kept me going --- i was INTRIGUED. honestly, this is a hidden gem. the narrative is not pretentious at all, but is delightful in its simplicity. it's funny, sweet, AND languising in just the right amount. of course, the premise isn't majestic: idiots falling in love, high school sweethearts... but the editing of the show, the lighting, the dialogue, and the exaggerated acting, makes the show a unique experience. it reminded me of "seven days: friday to sunday" and "mr. unlucky has no choice but to kiss", but with a personal touch of something else i can't quite put my finger on. I also loved the subtle character development. the casting was also great.

eu ameiiiiii 😭😭😭. que bom que não desisti no primeiro ep, que foi sim meio estranho, estilistacamente falando --- mas depois a gente se acostuma. agami é muito fofo, que ódio; takara-kun apaixonadinho, cadela de agami é a minha religião 😭. amei o casting, a química entre todos os atores. o crush absurdo que já tenho no komiya (que interpretou tanaka) não está no gibi - e não vou perdoar Eles terem nos dados uma imagem de tanaka e katori juntos, mas só no final, sem nunca tornar canon um second lead couple em potencial desses 🥺. enfim: que delícia foi esta série. uma pérola desse gênero de exagero no cinema japonês, na minha opinião. engraçado, fofinha e sensível na medida certa.

my only complaint is that we didn't get to hear asami-san saying "yuki" out loud. that'd be sooooooo 😭😭

well. this motherfucking show has successfully ruined me like only something this beautiful would do --- and for that i'm forever thankful. the quietness, and how it can be a vital, regenerative force, when it comes to meaningful relationships... the waiting, both desperate and patient. oh my god. the delicacy of asami-san and yuki affection for each other: its depth, its warmth. ITS LAYERS. the messy, intricate, ridiculously human tapestry of their connection!!!! i'm --- anyway. a cinematografia??? a ost??? eu quero gritar!!!!! nem quero escrever mais em inglês!!! esta série é minha dona!!! os meus ratinhos asami e yuki merecem o mundo!!! o roteiro foi perfeitamente escrito. sem diálogos entediantes e sem graça. eles honram a palavra e a imagem e o som. aff 🥺🥺🥺

LITERALLY ME!!!! i'm not in a hurry so i'm def feeling all the feelings, and cannot COMPREHEND the negative notes on this comment section. this show it's so beautiful and quiet and, of course, filled with angst... i love it sm that i sometimes feel UNWELL watching it. they do such a majestic job in portraying the intricacies of human connections. asami and yuki are both enchanted and terrified by their love for each other --- to the point they quite literally can only take it as an idea (i.e., the script) like... 😭😭😭 GOD. i'm so glad this show exists

eu gostei! definitivamente se trata de uma relação dom/sub com dominador e submisso caindo no susto numa relação sexual e (!!) amorosa bdsm de primeira viagem. uma coisa é ter uma relação dom/sub consensual sexual... outra coisa (infinitamente mais complexa) é ter uma relação dom/sub amorosa. aparentemente, yoh e mizuki estão tentando fazer isso funcionar. kudos para eles! e boa sorte para eles também rs uma segunda temporada seria perfeito para criar mais afeto por cada um dos personagens individualmente, e ver mais caos e (potencialmente) romancezinho do casal
