In episode 12 Vegas left the key to the handcuffs conveniently on the bed. Vegas knew the hedgehog was dying yet he said he will go to the vet, I think that was a way to leave Pete alone so he can escape. There was no surprise on Vegas's face when Pete walked out but what was baffling was his choice to stay. Pete sacrificed his freedom to console his abuser. Pete was the first one to choose him. He was the first one to show him kindness after discovering the ugly truth of what's hiding underneath Vegas's mask, DON'T FUCKING HURT HIM.
