Kim is undoubtedly the most enigmatic of the entire series, he is living in a shadow that we aren't allowed to approach. He has attitudes typical of a villain and that reminds me a lot of Korn's way of being: he uses to people, he has two faces, one social and one hidden just like his father does, one is a calm, friendly facade while the other one is the dark side that only pursues goals and power. He is skilled at lying and he knows how to read someone just by their body language. He was the only one who knew korn faked his death and you can see that by the way he looked at chan while kinn and khun were easily fooled but not him because he knows about Korn's plans and he doesn't interfere, also remember that in the previous episode Korn sends for him and we never see what they are talking about. Now, why would Chay be an obstacle? Because he makes him susceptible to his emotions, he is not staying away from chay to keep him out of the mafia world because if we are gone argue about that then let's remember he is already part of it because of Porsche so he keeps chay away because he considers him a weakness. Chay is to Kim what Pete is to Vegas, that is, they bring out their humanity but they are also an obstacle when it comes to achieving power. The very first interaction we witness is when Pete is telling Vegas he can't eat at the table and Vegas joining regardless of it. Then we have the car scene, he hands him some snacks and mocks him with the idea of sex. Then we can't forget the part when Vegas pushed Pete's face into a bowl of soup and forced the food down him. The call that gets Vegas to stop for Pete is a plead of hunger, he wanted to be kept safe and fed, lastly we see pete taking the matter in how own hands and bringing food to Vegas and Macau as an acceptation of his declaration. Food defines their relationship in many metaphors, they find themselves within this desperate hunger and only they can feed each other.
