Rape culture is the social environment that allows sexual violence to be normalized and justified, fueled by people like you not me. I never condoned Vegas's actions. Moreover their story is marketed to people who are meant to be mature enough to see it for what it is, and to distinguish between the morality and ethics of real life and those of a deeply immoral, fundamentally unethical fictional universe, my opinion on this character won't do any damage but your words might.
Considering the amount of people liking that comment, I'll say this -- Everyone has their own unique set of experiences that prompt them to think and perceive things in a certain way so I want to remind you that an opinion comes from someone else's view and cannot be decidedly proven wrong or right, and everyone is allowed to their own perspective. You are here to watch a show, criticize it, judge it, drag it, do what you please but the audience is not up for whatever debate you have going on. We are all people behind screens interacting through a fandom, we don't know each other so you aren't entitled to judge us. You don't like Vegas? Cool. You hate the show? Cool. Here I go again, I'll repeat myself. Let's start with the first thing -- HE IS NOT A PSYCHOPATH. He doesn't show any signs of a true psychopath if we are speaking on medical terms but something is definitely wrong. It could be absolutely plausible that his father's behavior contributed to his current state but it's not easy diagnosing him.
I know it's easy to just jump into the conclusion of a " psychopath " because until now, we have not seen Vegas show any remorse but gradually as the episodes pass, we get to know him better and we see he is capable of regret and many other things.
Psychopaths on the other hand are much more brutal and calculative, they are driven by rage and they are extremely impulsive unlike Vegas who is always so attentive of every step.
There are a lot of factors and traits that just don't align with this diagnosis, he is definitely experiencing some sort of mental illness that was most likely caused by his trauma but he is not a psychopath.
It’s important to distinguish between psychopaths and people with psychopathic traits. It’s possible to exhibit several psychopathic traits without being an actual psychopath. Psychopathic traits usually emerge during childhood and grow in the process while Vegas is simply traumatized by his childhood with a justified reason aka his onion head of a father. Psychopaths usually enjoy the thrill of getting away with something, or they might even like the fact that they could "get caught" at any moment and again this isn't Vegas, he is actually scared of failure he feels pressured and actually forced to do all this because of his father's expectations.
With that being said, we don't love a psychopath.
Now to why we love him -- he is fascinating, he has the devil-may-care attitude. It certainly doesn't help anyone that gets in his way to pursuit what he desires, but it does make his lifestyle pretty alluring and interesting to watch especially when I witness the things he's capable of doing to get what he wants. His backstory has a lot more to tell than any other character and it's just captivating to see how good the development can be + to think he's Satan and scared of Pete at the same time is funny.
And lastly, go and wine about the show and leave the audience alone baby.
