I don't get how this is considered "porn with no plot." There's one sex scene in the first episode that lasts less than five minutes, and a brief one in the second episode that's under a minute. What about the other 50 minutes of plot development? Calling this "porn" is like calling a spy thriller a rom-com because there's a kiss scene.

Perhaps this is his mind stretching too far, or it could be the present-day Great in the hospital trying to correct his past mistakes to accelerate his connection with Tyme and avoid ending up on that hospital bed.
