I have been lurking here since the beginning of the series and I kept holding my opinion back because it's not the kind of show I would normally analyze since it's not my typical genre but here I go.
I'll be the one to say this, Lian and kuea seem to have the communication skills of a sea cucumber ( sorry not sorry )
I get why Kuea is so secretive, he has this aristocratic reputation to uphold so therefore he wants to protect it by hiding several aspects of himself from his family and the world in general so he spins up an entire web of lies, constructing an image of himself that he thinks is right. This perception is wrong and fucked up in all kind of way's but at the end of the day he is young, he is pressured to look and act a certain way by his high status so I understand where he is coming from.
Lian knows all of this. I thought making Kuea live with him was a power game but I'm guessing he is attempting to bridge the emotional distance between them by first eliminating the physical distance but then again, his way of doing this isn't exactly right either but I remind myself this is fiction and I have to give them credit for trying. I guess what made me look past it is that Lian welcomed him into a home filled with Kuea’s favorite thing's such as his drums and all of the rest. However I wish he could be honest instead but I'm guessing the story line is different from what I'm expecting so I'll just go with the flow.
An other thing that does bother me is lian's constant teasing -- not cool my man but again, I'll let it slide because of the eyebrows 🐈⬛
If Lian keeps pushing kuea to reveal himself instead of just going straightforward with it, I hope it backfires when kuea realizes what he’s doing so Lian can genuinely try to win kuea back with a well deserved respect and honesty instead of this silly game but then again kuea doesn't speak up about a lot of things which leads me to think, they will move forward or even worst, have kuea apologize when Lian is the one who should be doing that.
After Lian kissed Kuea in the car while he was drunk, I was very concerned that I'd have to witness a sex scene that begins with assault and I have no issue with portraying r@pe as long as it's not romanticized which I thought it would be in here because of the chaotic dynamics so I was glad to see that Lian verbally checked in with Kuea twice making sure that he was okay. I loved that.
Also I hope that the reason Lian was inviting women to their dates and allowing them to flirt was part of his game to get kuea to stop acting like a perfect little doll and actually show his true self ( which I still find silly and unnecessary) but it's better than thinking he did it out of pure wickedness if you know what I mean.
Overall, I could keep rambling but this is getting too long -- I enjoy the series but it's more fan service than a story which I'm okay with, if you like it then I'm so happy you found something to entertain you but if you don't like it then you are fully entitled to that as well, we all have different views and I find that actually pleasing. I'll get to the second couple later on 🐈⬛
There is one thing that porsche did that really pissed me off, when he hurt macau he tried to justify it by saying he thought its the maid's kid as if that is an excuse
