Well the show has successfully passed censorship in 2021, although it has not been aired yet. The production team is taking their time with it because it is one of the most highly anticipated shows in China. Not only is the book on which it is based extremely popular, but a significant amount of money has been invested in its production. The show has removed the rape element but the torture scenes have been kept. In the book, the character Mo Ran, portrayed by Chen Feiyu, tortures and rapes Chu Wanning, played by Luo Yunxi. However, the show has chosen to omit the rape scenes while keeping the torture scenes intact which I find very brave 💀 Additionally, numerous romantic scenes have been filmed, including hugs, hand-holding, and even a wedding scene between the two main characters + plus them sleeping in each other's arms ❤ that's why the production team is currently waiting for the regulations to loosen up in order to include these romantic scenes in the final cut.

There is really no comedy but the title is misleading to be fair 💀 half of the book is full of rape and abuse, not to mention cannibalism and extreme description of gore

A show about a student turning into a genocidal dictator and forcing their former teacher into a sex slave." and thinking, "Oh yeah, this is totally going to breeze through censorship!"

This series is an absolute catastrophe. It can be likened to emotionless pornography, although even that comparison falls short. The explicit scenes are executed poorly, lacking any semblance of sensuality, while the storyline is virtually non-existent. Consequently, I cannot help but wonder what redeeming qualities, if any, remain within this show.
