Wonderful show and beautiful ending! And yes as it was said before here. "There is no place like home" Full of heartaches and hope and trials and tribulations!. Watching the growth and struggles of the "gang" through childhood to adulthood was inspiring and filled with the realities of life! Their emotional struggle between personal growth and the longing for one’s hometown. All the "kids" wanted to return home but I am not sure Wang He really wanted too? I loved that we also saw the parents experiences and struggles throughout their lives over the years. Each family had certain issues to overcome! I found the history aspect of the Court Yard and the Canal fascinating! and that it highlighted the significance of the Grand Canal in China’s history
Although I cried a lot during this series Something hit me and I cried so hard when Feng Hua and SiYi hugged each other after so many years.. Feng Hua missed her sooo much! Feng Hua was my favorite character. She was very kind, caring, responsible and always there to help anyone in need and level headed, except hiding her illness!
The cinematography was beautiful especially capturing the courtyard and canal and town! A BIG big thank you to the actors and actresses! I have seen Bai Lu in other dramas this was a different challenge and she did very well in this!
Finished! I liked it.. Simple, Sweet, Entertaining! Sometimes those are the best for a mood. I liked that they really never fought and always talked things out with each other and fully supported each other. Sometimes we are just in the mood for an nice simple story even if its been used before! I do think as a lot of you that grandma got off to easy,,, she was horrible to that little boy and young man!
Waiting for ep 31 and 32 but saw preview on iqiyi for 33 and 34 and it looks like Feng Hua STILL hasn't told anyone of her serious illness.. What the hell is wrong with her! I'm too frustrated! She's too smart to keep this up! Almost want to quit or wait until ep all out
