I mean there is some tension/possibility as she admire him and feel comfortable touching him, but yeah there is none, writers instead his rouge jobs can give little time into this possibility ^^

I can explain it very rational - at first she was tactician theoretically and focus on revenge. Therefore clear strategy was to join forces with previous dynasty loyalist or north tribes to use them to invade and reclaim her throne. Yet already in Shuozhou she refused to join forces and decided she would miraculously defend stronghold, she fails and pay price for it, she learn her strategy is weak, but she fails to understand that she can't decide herself is bigger problem. In Ansle camp she claim to be strategist yet she refuses to be on their side, she thought she can be in middle and somehow save everyone. it's extremely naive for someone who supposedly read a lot of strategy books. Then she try to save her dynasty loyalist general in camp what she didn't have to do, if she join forces with tribes in first place. And she fails again, but at least she decides she won't took revenge that would harm her people. Then in Tao monastery she finally get a grip of reality and decided she didn't mind work with new dynasty as long as people won't be suffering, you can call it growth, but we must wait 30+ EPs so she get some basic rationality in her character, so yes therefore a lot of watchers time was wasted

also like how status difference is explained in contracts, not just "because authority", it's respecting viewer
