Not all her roles were bad but she was still never favored by the channel. I'm her fan so I'm kinda biased lol I always wanted to see her in more challenging roles. But I just used her situation as an example of how the channel works.

GMM25 is the channel, GMMTV is a production company, not the same. There are also other productions who make dramas for GMM25. And GMMTV also produced dramas for One31.

Maybe she would've improved her acting if she had better roles, who knows. There's a rumor she might go freelance when her contract expires this year.

There's a few actors that are signed with a production house instead of a channel. GMMTV is a production house whose dramas air mostly on GMM25, but they have actors signed with them.

She was available, but Mint was never given many opportunities in Channel 3, she already expressed her desire to challenge herself and act in a slap kiss for instance, but the channel is always typecasting her and giving her bad scripts. Kimmy is A list and more popular than Mint. That's probably why they gave that role to her.

Punjan's contract is not with Channel 3, is with Broadcast Thai, a production company that usually lets their actors work with other channels and productions. I don't know if March is signed, but the reason actors are in many channel's dramas is usually when they're freelance, meaning they don't have a contract with any channel.

Example: the producer for Thong Ek requested for Mario and Mint to reunite in that drama. The channel decided to put Kimmy with Mario instead. It's always the channel making the final decisions.

A list actors get better shows because they're the priority for the channel, they generate the most profit so of course they'll get better opportunities.

They can act in movies and Netflix series, but not in dramas from other channels. Channel 3 is not flexible when it comes to that. GMMTV is though.

Yeah, the channel is like their agency in a way. But it's not Yaya's fault that she's always paired with the same actors, it's the channel's fault, Thai actors unless they're veteran actors or freelance, can't really choose their roles or who they work with. It's the channel that ultimately decides it. Yaya and Nadech are a popular pairing who generates money, so the channel is constantly pairing them up.

I agree, imagine the variety of pairings we would get if Thai actors weren't tied to one channel, it would be amazing.

Sadly in the Thai entertainment industry, most actors are signed to a channel and can only act in their dramas. Some have a more flexible contract (Weir is signed to Channel 7 and starred in a Netflix series, Yaya is set to star in a Netflix series too). But these are exceptions. There are also freelance actors who can act with any channel.
