I mean there were heaps of "unrealistic" things in this drama anyway and for people to raise their pitchforks at the female lead wanting to travel the world and write stories instead of staying at home with the male lead is......something LOL. Additionally QY as a character was always written through a modern lens. Her wishes aren't even ooc for her.
Isn't it a good thing that QY has dreams and wishes for her life that she wants pursue? Isn't it a good thing that she doesn't just want her life to revolve around a man? It has been established that QY always had bigger dreams for her life that she could not pursue due to her circumstances and position in society. After everything she's been through and now that she has the freedom to, why is it so bad for her to want to see more of the world? QY was never the type to be happy forever being stuck at home playing wife or lady of the household, even if it was with someone she loved. LY understands this fully which is why even though it breaks his heart, he is supportive of her leaving. He is even understanding of the fact that she would never ask him to go with her as he has his own goals to achieve. I am shocked at the negative response towards her wanting to leave. If this was a modern drama, no one would tell the female lead to settle for love and give up her dreams and just stay at home and accompany the male lead while writing her stories.

Exactly and I don't exactly see her doing anything truly horrible in her seduction that warrants major criticism. It's not like she's separating qin xuan from his lover or purposefully forcing qin xuan to be with her despite him not having any feelings for her. She picked up on qin xuan's intentions towards her because of his gift and merely attempted to amplify those feelings with harmless seduction tricks. If qin xuan truly had no feelings for her none of it would have worked anyway. i think movies like old boy are aware of their subject material and show those realtionships for what they are fully aware like they are meant to come across as disturbing. this is more disturbing imo because they're packaging it as a cute rom com and romanticising the creepy stuff

the fault definitely falls more on the husband bc he was the one in a committed relationship he should've been dedicated to. however, it would be one thing if they got in a relationship and she didn't know he was married then it would 100% not be her fault at all. but she was aware and she chose to make a move on him . she made a conscious decision to act on her feelings for a married man so it's as much her fault as it is his for cheating on his wife i can't see her as completely blameless in all of this. they're both homewreckers who don't deserve any happiness together
tbh the leads had amazing chemistryand were so freaking cute. This would have been so much more better without all the psychotic background characters scheming 24/7 but hey that can be said for moat lakorns out there.
