No he is not trying to win Naksu. He is more like trying to protect uk and naksu. We know what uk is after and the consequence won't be in his favour (as of now). Yul is just too righteous and dutiful for his own good.
The thing i love about our main lead is that he NOT PERFECT HE IS RELATABLE. He has his own flaws and he owns it. Not like typical mls who got everything and always wins. He wins he loses he gets angry he gets punished he gets fooled he gets scared he falls he rises up again that's what I lobb about him... One of the most relatable and likeable ml in kdrama world.

Exactly the first episode she didn't perform ballet saying she was afraid of xyz and when we see flashback of yu-rim and Hee-do 's childhood she lost 0-15 and said she was scared so she could not fence against Hee-do. Also she is quite understanding. The way she understands the turmoil that must be going inside Hee-do 's mother's mind at the time which Heedo herself cannot understand during her teen years. She is mature just like yu rim.
The main theme of the story is more about family, friendship, hardships and striving for betterment of oneself and those around us rather than romantic plot and I feel that's the beauty of this drama <3
