It really depends on why you aren’t vibing with the series yet. If it’s just “not my cup of tea” after…
thank you for the reply! i really like the parts with FL, but the introduction of Nan Heng i didn't really vibe with. it's obvious that at this point he's sort of a caricature of the tragic male lead, but does he become more dynamic after the 5-6 episodes? or does he only have the classic "he is not actually evil" storyline?
a lot of people mention the acting of the ML (and i am sure he is objectively very good!), so far (episode 2) it's not my cup of tea - is there someone who didn't enjoy it at first who could tell me if it changes later?
i wasn't really into it after the trailer but the first episode is so nice! i already like both of them so much, the harem will probably frustrate me to no end xD i have high hopes now
bindge-watched. didn't really know if i should watch it because the comments made it sound like it has everything i hate in a series, but i found out all the problematic parts are in the mildest form. like it's there but in its cheems form. tonhon is mostly a dumbass instead of a douche (although he got more and more violent as the story progressed for some reason) and honestly half of the things that receive the harshest criticism aren't really that bad when you are older and less romantic than the characters themselves (eg the dare kiss) lol. the production was very nice and the acting solid but damn do i dislike chon xD i couldn't find out what bothers me about him until i realized that i have no idea who he is outside of the love story. we've been told he's kind and cute but i have no idea what are his hobbies or how he chose his major or... anything besides the things he likes to do with tonhon (apart from the bl watching when he imagines himself and ton as the main leads which, surprise surprise, also relates to tonhon). overall seven just because i would feel bad for the people on the production team if i rated lower, they did a good job (even the sound never went weirdly quiet, you don't hear that very often with thai dramas).
it's so sad when a savior turns into another abuser... the fact that all those awful words are something people in the community hear on a daily basis made this movie more realistic than i thought a mob movie could be, and i'm glad that we were given the happy ending because we all deserve to break free from bullshit like this. overall i really loved the camera work and the way the parts without dialogue were shot - really shows that sometimes making out can be a dialogue on its own and move the story forward.
Were there a lot of bl moments? Im interested in it but not really down for lgbt stuff. Still if there weren't…
if you "aren't down for lgbt stuff", i advice you stay with hetero dramas. there's bound to be some queer content in queer media and even censored so called bromances are inherently gay, so without changing your mind set, you probably won't be able to enjoy it.
