What were the funniest moments in the drama for you?
For me, I laughed so hard when YH forged the familiar token for TY. He is supposed to be a dragon but because he is not complete/dismembered, the dragon image is blurry. When asked what kind of familiar TY is, and to conceal his real identity, YH said he is a KOI fish (A lucky carp). 🤣
Thank you for the ride, Back from the Brink drama and thanks to those who commented and gave their thoughts about it. It was indeed something, a beautiful journey and an adventure to remember.
Bittersweet indeed. It made us smile, laugh, cry, giggle. It was worth the time.
This drama is as beautiful as a fairytale but with a well thought insight of human complexity which make it relatable…
To this, I am also grateful to the writers and the cast of actors. I thought this kind of xian xia was long forgotten. Just pure adventure, romance and comedy on the side. For me, if I am able to, I am looking forward to do a cosplay with these characters. It is a refreshing take on fantasy world with heroes and heroines with cool powers that need not be too childish.
If it were true that the writer for this live-action adaptation is the same author of the novel, I think he/she took the liberty to re-create a different take on what was really going on to the mind/heart of the characters.
When YH said that as a kid she thought LX back was the broadest and most dependable she ever knew but after experiencing…
it was a profound realization for YH. And if in the story LX dies, it will be such a difficult time for her. He was literally the only parent she knew.
i am wondering how does Chinese soc media is reacting to this c-drama? Is it really popular? i really, really hope so... this is a good break for these actors...
I love the redemption arc of LX. This drama just gets better, brilliant writer! The trailers are out for the last few episodes yet I am sure there is still more than meets the eye. Just like how things unravel when watching it. Kudos to the cast and crew for this...
I'm not gonna lie. I just love how as soon as YH master the Ghost Eulogy, she just went straight to where TY is…
the sensibility of the characters is one of the charisma of this C-drama. The leads are actually using their brains .... kudos to the writer and of course our leads for the well executed acting.
This is a baseless theory. So one of the reasons why xuelin despite being a strong Taoist couldn't master ghostly…
When I looked back to the question they were tested, who would you save, the one you love or the world? Xuelin tried to master the Ghostly Eulogy to save the world but YH is mastering it to save the one she loves. It is very profound and she learned it from TY. She saw how TY would risk everything for her even if it means giving up the world. Whoever is the writer, I think she really thought this well.
