Also just finished reading the novel...agreed to what you've said..story is simple, some scenes were sweet, more realistic age gap story but will be super boring if not executed properly..need a good group of cast with great chemistry and acting to pull this through..

I think the ending is good..just spend the remaining time with each other even though in the novel ml is cured and have a more long time ahead..this is somewhat bitter sweet ending, though they have only limited together afterwards the war, they will be together able to do what they want and with no worries
