Yeah, author already said drama is completely different from the novel...but still!one could only hope for better continuation of script writer's storyline...really hope it wont go downhill in later episodes

Fight scenes editing are not great but still good..this drama cannot be considered as 'traditional' wuxia but more of faux wuxia/fantasy. Their fighting scenes are most cuts that put together with lots of cgi.I say this drama's fight scene is still ppleasing to the eyes.

Just finished ep 16 and I just can't believe the writers did this (aside YWY being a villain) is changing the story of Lan Yin Bi Yue also known as Orchid Jade Moon..that in the novel is the love token of hfx to bfx which he planted and taken care of for 8 yrs before it bloomed( a black and white orchid intertwined together) is now a mere piece of something given by an old master and which people fought for...it's like one of the touching scene is annihilated by adaptation..yes, the drama is still enjoyable to watch but hope that they still keep some scenes/story from the novel which is the essence of why it became popular.

Ikr, those costumes sleeves in cdramaland are like vaults or blackhole that can store many things ..but just can't help thinking about that scene😂😂

YWY, the man who desires nothing and looked up to by everyone in the novel became an antogonist in the drama..what a turn around by writers

Oh the 'fat shaming' always get to me..like chinese actresses are sooo skinny specially if the act in modern dramas, they're literally like stick with a bit of skin..maybe that's why I prefer costume drama s more because somehow actors look healthy and normal

I do remember readingn some article about ZLS before and I thought that to be an actor you really have to thick skinned and have a lot of guts specially in china because of bullying and those cruel comments..
