this is undoubtedly one of the best tv series ive ever seen, from the lovable cast of characters to an amazing storyline and beautiful cinematography, im definitely going to remember this drama for a very long time. 10/10 it was so good i feel so empty inside now

i think the ending of season 1 hinted at a possible season, but from what i know nothing has been confirmed yet

Well, I may have overreacted a little bit with that statement so I apologize, but it doesn't change the fact that ~most~ wlw movies with male directors are kind of terrible.

Well... like 80% of BL movies and shows ARE bad since they're made by women for women, but thats not what I was talking about in the original comment. As I said, there was this specific way of filming that reminded me of women being objectified like in most movies with the male gaze present. I did not mention men being oblivious, I was calling them out for fetishization.

Personally? Too many boob shots and unnecessarily long sex scenes with the female characters, especially with the character that identifies as a lesbian having graphic sex with men. Many other nuances I don't really want to discuss further. As a wlw myself, trust me, this is not as revolutionary as you think it is. Also, you are a man (no offense) so... my point stands firmly..

I was talking about the way the movie was filmed and directed, which was by man so...

I was expecting so much more from this movie, but it was actually really bad. It was so painfully obvious that the director was a straight male who viewed lesbians in a weird, hypersexualized way. The director's male gaze was very prominent in this, and he kept on villainizing and objectifying the lesbian characters in such a way that it was disgusting. Did not enjoy Kiko's acting as well, for some reason I felt like it was lacking. 5/10 for the shots, visuals, and for the sapphic content that I am so desperately starved for. Please never let straight men direct movies about lesbians again. This is more like a movie made for males who fetishize lesbians rather than a wlw audience.
