I think novel was already dragging too long but it was because it had decent amount of school life story so it's understandable. But, this drama changed so much plot with little school life yet made it worse by dragging longer than novel. I blame on writer of this drama. Also, they shouldn't have changed plot around mothers.

iirc, Pleng was spoiled child and then after her family was corrupted she became really weak. Wan does everything for Pleng and spent decade to find her. Wan married him just for finding Pleng because she might see the news of them getting married, but Pleng didn't attend the wedding. Wan just had one-night stand with Neung to see if Wan can love other women or just Pleng.
