My only complaint about Episode 1 is the execution. It felt a bit awkward at times because they focused so much on close-up face shots and every little facial movement that the overall body language and scene flow suffered. I get that they're trying to show off everyone's face cards (and honestly, they all have them 😭), but I hope they tone it down in the next episodes and let the scenes breathe a little more.
Other than that, I think it's a pretty good start, and I'm definitely interested in seeing where the story goes.

So GQ is reborn with the memories of her past life and Princess SXH's memories too, right? But the way she schemes and plans everything feels like it's completely her own. She literally started making moves from the first episode. I love a strong female lead who actually uses her brain.
For a moment, it reminded me of *The Princess's Gambit*, but only a little. The plot feels quite different. There, the female lead became the way she was because of everything she went through. Here, GQ now SXH already seems like someone who knows exactly how to play the game.
And He Yu... not you acting all fragile and harmless while secretly pulling all the strings. 😭 Also, are we really supposed to believe he's not already completely interested in GQ? It's only been, what, two encounters? Sir, you're already paying way too much attention to her.

I recognized the Ninth Prince, Chang Ying, from *FOF*. I really liked him there, so it was nice seeing him again.

Overall, I liked the first episode. My only complaint is the editing. It felt like some scenes were cut and joined together a bit abruptly. I really hope they don't keep doing that in the next episodes because everything else has me interested.
