The plot does have a lot of holes, but, honestly, I don't care. Those glimpses of Perth and Chimon alone make it worth watching, and PondPhuwin have developed a beautiful chemistry, too - looks like GMMTV have hired a kissing coach.
Because first of all this is my usual attitude towards new series - if you don't expect much, you can't be disappointed. And then I think that the quality of Japanese BL series hasn't been as good as it used to be. I did love Eien no konou and Minato Coin Laundry, but imo that's about it for 2022.
I didn't expect much from this, but now I'm surprised how good it is. The writing of the first episode was great, showing the ML's backstory, which looked natural as it included - besides the awkward moments - what young men at that age dream of and do - sex. The acting was on point, and Nakata is just hot.
I'm suffering from a serious "second couple syndrome" now. I like Plustor and Potae, and I'm happy that Game and Vee's love story is simple enough not to make my head ache like the multiversal Mum/Dew storyline.
We know that we're watching a good comedy when we suddenly find ourselves taking it as seriously as we are taking this, like when that lonely dance breaks our hearts.
I like the way the main characters' relationship is growing step by step - it feels realistic and mature. I also like that Inami is not simply a villain, but a human being who made a mistake out of love. The acting is better than in some other Japanese BLs because it isn't exaggerating too much just to resemble a manga.
This show once again proves that it can be better to keep episodes and the series as a whole short instead of dragging it on and on like some Thai shows that taste like a 3-days-old chewing gum in the end.
If anyone find an official trailer for this series please share it to me :)
There are trailers to some of the episodes of season 1 on gagaoolala's youtube channel, e.g. this one - I guess some trailers for season 2 will be released before the series airs on gaga from Feb 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqfSt6r9RTM
This show is so underrated. It manages to tell quite a complex story and displays interesting characters and their developments in 4 rather short episodes. It is what good comedy should be like - light on the surface, but with a serious message. The acting is good, too, and some of the actors are not just handsome, but plain hot, most of all Yamamoto Yusuke.
After a bumpy start, this has become a real "History" series. I like the way the relationships are developing, and all the four main actors are hot - each of them in their own way. I was smiling through both episodes.
It's true that the plot has its flaws, but PondPhuwin compensate for them. Pond has been the better actor of the two, but imo Phuwin is improving. And both of them are damn hot. Perth and Chimon are the cherry on top.
Hmm. Second half of episode 1 coming tomorrow - first half wasn't enough to say whether I'll like this or not. The intro with the police seemed unrelated to the rest of the show. Actors seem to be very young.
I usually watch this early on Saturday mornings, and either my brain isn't working properly at this early hour, or it is just too simple a machine to understand what's going on in this show. The funny thing is that I still like the series.
It was clear that it couldn't be just lovey-dovey all the time - this episode's drams was necessary, if only to make Noey realize he really needs to change. I love everything about this series. It's Friday's BL highlight.
