After episodes 1 - 5 set the bar so high, I was a little skeptical if the other episodes would keep up this standard, but episode 6 prove they do. The plot twist at the end of this episode makes me wait excitedly for next week.
Surrogate motherhood is somehow a red cloth for the Chinese mentality, and that is a hard sell even for the otherwise…
I think the main reason is that we've had conservative governments most of the time who retreated to what they said were Christian principles. One of those principles is that a child "belongs" to the woman who gave birth to them. Btw surrogate motherhood is illegal in most European countries, except Ukraine, Russia and a few others.
Surrogate motherhood is somehow a red cloth for the Chinese mentality, and that is a hard sell even for the otherwise…
In Germany, surrogate motherhood is illegal, which is why is was often "outsourced" to Ukraine where it is legal and a thriving "industry". Now German couples have problems getting the newborn babies to Germany if the surrogate mother is still in Ukraine, or, even more complicated, if the surrogate mother has fled to Germany, she will have to keep the baby herself under German legislation. The only way out in the latter case would be an adoption, which may not be granted if it is proven that the baby is a result of surrogate motherhood.
I wish everybody had a Jean in their lives (who is the only reason why I'm still watching, well he plus Tanwa), and I'm sure I'll forget this terrible series when the finale has been aired.
It's really weird. In literally every Bl series a guy who has a little bruise is taken to hospital or at least the infirmary. but Sun almost dies, and either someone gives him an apple or "heals" him telepathically. Take that boy to hospital, Kim!
I didn't like the helicopter scene. Something bad is going to happen - the question is who will be killed. Thanks to the sophisticated script we won't be too shocked unless it's Rain.
I like the true-to-life approach of this series which doesn't hide that even a country which seems to be relatively open-minded with respect to the LGBTQ community like Taiwan isn't a bed of roses for gay couples who dare lead a life as a family.
I'm really enjoying this - the cast is adorable, the frequency of annoying tropes is bearable, and the OST is beautiful. The script has some holes, especially with respect to the second couple, but all in all this is another nice Taiwan BL series.
"Symposion" isn't a book about Plato, but by Plato, where a number of people, among them Socrates, discuss various concepts of love. Plato develops his idea of "Platonic Love" in this discussion.
Meen and Rossi are Bangkok-based too, as far as I know. They both act in other big productions in supporting roles…
MindTrio is based in Bangkok - I didn't say they aren't. With "Bangkok boys" I mean those students who just make some extra money acting in BL series without any acting skills or talents.
What I think Episode 6 will be is Tiew's story. Heck! I'm all in if there will be another mini-series dedicated…
That would be great. The Once in Memory movies were extraordinary as well, although they were more like "normal" BL movies, but both Rossi and Non were amazing, and the movies felt so much more authentic than most BL series.
Chiang Mai seems to be a good place for creating movies. Wayufilm is also doing a great job, and even TB's "Hometown's Embrace" had this Chiang Mai charm although it cannot compare to MindTrio or Wayufilm productions.
I thought this would be an exciting series because of the parallel universe thing. But that has been forgotten by the writers, it seems. Now they are calling Tay and Perth to come and rescue the sinking ship, and honestly, those scenes with Perth make Jimmy and Sea look like beginners - which is what they are.
"We have no idea ... who Charlie will end up with," Well, after the final scene of episode 7 I do have an idea,…
Ep 7 was supposed to air yesterday, but it didn't, and today it broke down after a few minutes. But now both parts are up and also subbed (subs were missing first).
This series has begun to become a little bit of a mess - there's a point where there can be too many characters…
"We have no idea ... who Charlie will end up with," Well, after the final scene of episode 7 I do have an idea, and it wouldn't be the worst outcome. I'd be disappointed if it was a red herring.
This is a really engaging BL. I'm really fascinated at the complexity of the various characters. Ayan has to be…
I couldn't agree more. This is a rare example of a good script meeting good directing and editing and excellent acting, and thus the opposite of Vice Versa which has become a disaster because an interesting basic idea doesn't meet any of the aforementioned.
I am glad that the script finally allows Eiw's character to develop. It will be a rocky road for him, especially as it isn't clear whether Cake will still stand by him, but it will help him take some cautious steps out of the closet. I liked this episode, and Earth was great this time.
Last week I said that this series isn't as bad as Love with Benefits. This week I can only say that I was wrong last week. I'll still try to watch the rest of it, because I love Gameplay.
that ending was almost too meta for me 😂- but I absolutely lost my mind at the little shout out to My Only…
I thought Billy and Seng were already great in "Secret Crush on you", which for me was one of the big surprises of the year. They showed their comic talent in SCOY, and in WoY they proved that they are full scale actors. I'd definitely like to see them in another full length series too.
