maybe because i was so used to having at least ONE nice character in dramas like this.. i wished i could ROOT for someone. you have great points and i agree with you that if the show was really trying to make hateful characters, they did well.. and yes humans are unlikeable most of the time lmao we could say the drama had a messy mature, but i wanted to see MORE! like if we gonna be in this, might as well go all the way.

anyways i enjoyed this discussion a lot :D i'm glad we could talk about the drama's cons and pros in a friendly manner. if you haven't seen it, i would recommend Bleak Night (2011) to you!! it's a really dark mystery drama about 3 school friends. if you liked this drama i think you might enjoy bleak night, tho it's very heavy.

coming up with a story that could've been a+, because they used a theme that is not often talked about, but soooo common around the world. prostitution is everywhere, but obviously not many would talk about it, especially if teenagers are involved. i commend the drama for trying to raise awerness of this shitution, but the story was still not good. characters were unlikeable as i said before, to the point that i could NOT careless about most of them. i think when you find a school bully less hateful than THE FEMALE LEAD.. there are some problems. and yes that's just my opinion. no offense to anyone obvs.

ALSO i'm not hating on the actors at all. they did a good job.

uhmm.. i didn't say anything about the ending.. so?? and yes, i watched enough dramas and movies in this topic, but even if i did it doesn't mean i will like the ending more or not. i was disappointed because i was excited for a drama that had such a good plot. sadly most of the aspects did not click with me and was sloppy. ending was not the biggest fault of the drama tbh, it's a netflix drama ofc it will end with this cliffhanger.

bae gyuri, the worst female lead i've come across in a long time. i never hated a female lead as much as i hated her ugh. overall i think this drama could've been better if it was shorter. i only finished it, because i was really excited for nam yoonsu's new drama.. but he had only a very few scenes ugh at least he did some work in the end tho... most of the characters were really unlikeable. the only ones i had any sympathy for was minhee and mr.lee

this drama was honestly so underwhelming. i had really high expectations for it. too bad the story went downhill really quick.

EDIT: i think some ppl did not understand it but nothing i said applies to the actors! all 4 main leads in my opinion did a good job playing their characters lol best aspect of this drama is the acting honestly. looking forward to the new young faces ~

So many stuffs happening at the same time and it makes it hard to connect with any of the characters tbh... also the king's character is really annoying and that "you will be my wife, i decided" part was another turn off lmao but ep 2 felt better. That random scene with those little evil brat boys made me so pissed, but i really felt for the birthday boy and his mom.

and my fave part was Tae eul's backstory.. that cherry blossom scene.. with Shinjae stopping to stare at her.. IT WAS FUCKIN NICE! I really didn't ship anyone with Tae eul at first, but that scene was fuckin cute.. I really want to know more about their backstory and how they became this close and all.. also it's making me sad already, because obviously he's a second lead.......... :(

and most importantly.. we need more of JUNG EUN CHAE

Taeoh is a fuckin obsessive bastard.. he and Dakyung can go to hell tbh. Also Gosan people suck, such two-faced annoying snakes, they have 0 decency. Sunwoo deserves better people around her and definitely a better, smarter son.. Joonyoung is acting like a stupid brat.. He really acts like he doesn't have a brain and forgets what his dad did to them... for what? FOR SOME GIFTS AND MONEY?? Joonyoung was raised well in a decent family (before his dad fucked up everything obviously) but he really have NO EXCUSE to act like a stupid brat like that. His mom works and lives for him only and yet, it's not enough? Some kids have so much harder than him, but they still wouldn't act like that to their moms... He is so ungrateful and a shitty son for real. Blaming his mom instead of realizing his dad's mistake.. also feeling embarrassed by her... Mothers really suffer the most.

Yeah the last scene was like ??? I get that he was looking for her, but why hug? They never met or anything and they don't know each other.. Yes it's the kdrama world lol so I shouldn't be asking too serious questions especially in a romance drama, but for me personally, just wasn't exciting or romantic. I watched many dramas and I just don't like that trope too much :\

I might be the only one who feels like the first episode was so cheesy and it just made me feel like i'm watching an edgy disney movie OTL it gives me a feeling that kim eun sook just mixed her old dramas and tried to make a new one out of it. also i don't think aggressively hugging a random girl on the street is a cute look, it wasn't a cute look in the heirs either. I hope it gets better ~

also it's the most aesthetically pleasing drama for real!! you can see how creative they are with their shots and everything looks well thought out. amazing cinematography, amazing work!

Chanhong's, Donhyuk's and Kyungpo's friendship is so wholesome! They had a rough start at first, but they are growing fond of each other. It's so nice to see how they help each other, their chemistry is really amazing and they are hilarious together! LOVE TO SEE IT!
